A month since its launch, brand new channel &TV is gaining popularity amongst the UK Asian audience. From its array of exciting new shows, drama series Gangaa was top show in its slot last night amongst all Indian channels.
Gangaa has been a consistent hit on the channel so far - an inspiring story of a child widow who is characterized with an indomitable spirit and will to survive. She is considered to be a threat to age old customs of the society. However, her spirit and resilience ensure that she emerges a winner. &TV has made a successful start in UK’s competitive Asian TV market. In its first month the channel has garnered a reach touching half a million, with its dramas and movies capturing huge interest. Over half of its viewers are a lucrative ABC1 audience, with the majority aged just 25-34 years.
The channel mirrors the thinking and values of an evolved India with the shows having a contemporary touch, depicting the progressiveness in the mindset of the viewers with a twist. Last week saw the end of Shah Rukh Khan’s reality show and the launch of yet more shows with the stylish Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls and the romantic Badii Devrani every Monday to Friday in the 9:00pm - 10:00pm time band.
As well as exciting shows, &TV has a huge line up of Bollywood blockbusters this May to keep its new audience entertained.
